Defender Law Clerk you will be responsible for researching legal
and other issues, providing findings to attorneys, preparing legal
documents and assisting attorneys at legal proceedings.About UsThe

- Performs legal and other research, analysis and/or writing and
provides findings to attorneys
- Reviews case law, statutes, articles, and treatises
- Drafts legal memoranda or motions for defender attorneys
- Assists defender attorneys at legal proceedings including
arraignments, evidentiary hearings, and trials
- Attends legal seminars and workshops on- and off-siteWorking
Conditions
- Work occurs primarily in an indoor office or court environment
working in close physical proximity with others and public
contact
- Position handles traumatic subject matter including crime
scenes, accidents, etc. and is subject to interruptions, time
pressure, high volumes of work, handling multiple or complicated
tasks, unscheduled tasks, frequently changing tasks, accuracy,
decision making, concentration, vigilance, teamwork
- Ability to travel to and from job related locations during the
course of a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding
the use of County vehicles and/or private vehicles used on County
business.
- Valid Arizona driver's license is required upon hire
- Ability to lift 15-25 pounds from floor to waist; 15 pounds
waist to shoulder or shoulder to overhead; carry 15-25 pounds a
distance of 100 feet or push/pull 100 pounds a distance of 100
