Job Description:

A leading higher learning institution is seeking a Sr DevOps Engineer in Phoenix. We are looking for an adaptable and creative individual to join our dynamic DevOps service-oriented team to make differences. In our DevOps team, our focus is automation, innovation, and support. Our goal is to deliver 24x7x365 high-availability for university education services.

This role is versatile with broad responsibilities and not limited to a single technology platform. You should be willing to support provisioning and configuration in large enterprise environment. You will maintain compute resources and applications within internal/external cloud infrastructures. You will work closely with developers to handle rapid platform deployments and releases. You will support system hardware, operating systems, and software systems while adhering to industry best practices and compliance to support business objectives and student experience.

Responsibilities:

? ?Think outside the box? and approach infrastructure/storage solutions with agile and scalable modern techniques

? Develop and streamline automated installation and configuration procedures for the purpose of self-service provisioning using tools such as SCOM, Puppet and Chief

? An escalation point for investigation and troubleshooting storage related issues in production, QA and DEV environments

? Adhere to best practices for storage management through daily system monitoring, verifying integrity and availability of all hardware, storage resources, and systems, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups

? Assist architecting storage solutions for operational needs

? Assist repair and recovery from hardware or software failures

? Find opportunities for streamlining processes to improve time-to-market services

? Monitor and perform performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimizations

? Adhere to periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning

? Provide after hours on-call support

Qualifications:

? 5-10 years of technical experience in large, enterprise environments

? Strong scripting/coding experience using .Net, Ruby, Perl, PowerShell to successfully create automation processes via service APIs

? Strong understanding of system architecture from application through server stack

? Subject matter expertise with a broad skill set in several technologies such as Windows, Linux, virtualization, networking, storage and coder; combined with excellent planning and communication skills as well as ability to think independently or as a team

? Public cloud experience with setup and configuration of IS or PaaS application environment using tools for brokering and automation

? In-depth knowledge of current infrastructure protocols, business platforms, middleware, internet standards, and database software

? Proven record in successful design, development and implementation of high availability systems and applications

? Able to see problems from various angles and willing to discuss solutions until a common goal or idea is agreed

? Familiar with agile project management techniques including Scrum and Lean processes
